Unichain Testnet is Live and Integrated with The Graph
Today, Uniswap announced Unichain, a brand new L2 shaping the evolution of DeFi in the Ethereum ecosystem. Unichain is an OP Stack chain designed to be a faster, more cost-effective home for DeFi applications that functions as the home for liquidity across chains in web3 – with data made easily accessible thanks to a day-one integration with The Graph.
The Graph empowers developers to quickly create performant applications using fast and ultra-reliable blockchain data, building on time-tested technology as the original protocol that introduced and standardized subgraphs. That history includes indexing Uniswap data as early , and continues with the integration of Unichain testnet. As of today, all developers building on Unichain can organize and access onchain data easily using subgraphs on The Graph.
What is Unichain?
Unichain is a fast and low-cost L2, with near-instant transactions built on the OP Stack. Launching with 1-second block times, and with 200-250 milliseconds effective block times coming soon, Unichain aims to reduce latency while improving market efficiency and provide a home for liquidity across chains, all while lowering value lost to .
Additionally, Unichain plans to introduce a Validation Network and Provable Block Building in 2025. This includes a network of full nodes that monitor and verify the actions of the sequencer, bringing faster settlement and more decentralization to Unichain and block building delegated to a trusted execution environment (TEE) developed in partnership with Flashbots.
The Graph supports Unichain’s Testnet from Day One
The Graph makes it easy to access Unichain testnet data starting from day one. Anyone can build a subgraph indexing Unichain testnet data and deploy it using .
The Graph’s support of Unichain testnet also lays the foundation for full support across Subgraph Studio and The Graph Network when Unichain mainnet goes live. Developers can familiarize themselves by building Unichain subgraphs on testnet now to prepare for the launch of Unichain mainnet, so they can continue using subgraphs to query mission-critical dapp data in a decentralized way using The Graph Network.
“The launch of Unichain testnet built on the OP stack, is an incredible step forward in DeFi innovation. The Graph has indexed Uniswap data since 2019, with developers building on a shared foundation of DeFi data with subgraphs. Today, The Graph enables developers to utilize subgraphs to build high-quality dapps on Unichain with reliable onchain data. I’m excited for what the future has in store for projects built on Unichain and The Graph.” - Eva Beylin, Director, The Graph Foundation”

About The Graph
is the source of data and information for the decentralized internet. As the original decentralized data marketplace that introduced and standardized subgraphs, The Graph has become web3’s method of indexing and accessing blockchain data. Since its launch in 2018, tens of thousands of developers have for dapps across 70+ blockchains - including Ethereum, Solana, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Polygon, Celo, Fantom, Gnosis, and Avalanche.
As demand for data in web3 continues to grow, The Graph enters a with a more expansive vision including new data services and query languages, ensuring the decentralized protocol can serve any use case - now and into the future.
